Newsletter Issue Eight 3/5/2010,
By the time you all read this, we will
be into our third month of the New
Year. So I ask you - How is 2010 treating
you?
Newsletter Issue Seven 8/19/2009,
I often get asked these questions from friends, clients, family, etc. - “How do you do all
that you do? How do you run your offi ce, spend time with family, coach your kids’ teams,
serve your various community groups, run marathons, etc?
Newsletter Issue Six 4/16/2009,
Recently, I wrote a letter to the editor of our local paper. The object was to raise awareness
about all the good our Rome Rotary Club does and to invite people to serve their community
with us. Yet, the underlying theme, above and beyond that of joining Rotary, was giving.
These are very rocky waters we are all sailing in right now, all pirate jokes aside. The stock
market; the shape of our government (national, state and local); rising jobless rates; rising
bankruptcies and foreclosures - none of it fills you with ...
Newsletter Issue Five 12/22/2008,
What a long, strange trip it’s been. I don’t think even Jerry Garcia could have imagined the year of
2008. It truly has been a strange year - from the top on down. It was the year of Presidential politics.
From the drop of the ball on New Year’s Eve (even before that really) we were assaulted with those vying
for the nation’s top post and finally, after countless commercials, Barack Obama made history. He
campaigned on ‘Change’ and the message certainly resonated with the American people. No matter
what your political ...
Newsletter Issue Four 10/3/2008,
Are you slogging through and letting one day blur into the next? Do you approach each day with a sense of dread and fear, thinking “what misery awaits me today?” Or are you operating
with an awareness of our finite time on this planet with a resolve to make the most of it, to enjoy it, to have some fun.
Dr. Randy Pausch fell into the latter category, to say the least. A Computer Science Professor at Carnegie Mellon University and an innovator
in the field of virtual reality, Randy Pausch will forever be remembered for The ...

Mattacola Joins U.B. Law Alumni Association 7/15/2008,
Greg Mattacola was recently voted onto the Board of Directors for the University of Buffalo School of Law Alumni Association for a three-year term. Said Greg Mattacola, "It's a sign of the times that you don't need to live in the same city as the organization or client which you are serving. I can participate in the board meetings and committee work via telephone and e-mail and physically attend meetings when I able to be in Buffalo. This allows me to give back to a school which gave me so much and it allows the Law School to have a ...

Newsletter Issue Three 6/6/2008,
This is a true story. Nearly two years ago, when renovations were in full swing on our office building, I stopped in near lunchtime to check on the progress of the day. The contractors were in the middle of gutting everything, a dirty and nasty job. I decided to go and get them some lunch. (By the way, the craftsman who is responsible for our beautiful office is Al Cidzik of Custom Ventures – I highly recom-mend his work.) I went to a local pizza place for the lunch and upon entering saw that they had six slices of pizza in the display ...
Newsletter Issue Two 2/28/2008,
I bring you Issue Two of Mattacola Law Matters. The first one must have been successful to want to spend the time and effort again! So, how successful was it? How does one even judge or gauge the success of an online newsletter? Well, most importantly, for one, it passed my first test of doing anything in this world. Was it fun? Did
I enjoy doing it? The answer is a resounding ‘yes’. Writing is something I’ve always enjoyed and to be able to devote precious time to connecting with my clients, friends, family and colleagues – that is fun ...
Newsletter Issue One 1/15/2008,
Welcome to the first electronic newsletter of The Mattacola Law Firm. Why? So many reasons. First, there never seems to be enough time to reach out to clients, colleagues, friends and family in the way you’d like to. Too many times we are limited to getting our pressing projects done, putting out fires, meeting the immediate needs, etc. Those things are necessary but this newsletter allows us to be what we strive to be - proactive. It allows us to stay in touch, pass on some useful information, share some news and give a small glimpse into ...

Mattacola Firm Gets Max On Auto Injury 6/3/2005,
The Mattacola Law Firm recently obtained a settlement for two of its clients injured in an auto accident. "Here was a case where a young couple were driving in their car, obeying the law, and a reckless driver ran a stop sign and broad sided them. The young lady broke her knee and the young man had significant cervical strain. We were able to guide them through the No Fault process, obtained temporary disability payments for them and then ended up collecting the maximum amounts available for their pain and suffering. It is such a pleasure ...
